The municipality of Sint-Lievens-Houtem is offering its residents free stakes to help place flowers on graves for November 1st and 2nd.

To make it easier to place flowers on graves, the municipality is providing free stakes. These have been available since Monday, October 19th, at the entrance of each cemetery, hanging in a bucket on a barrier.
The stakes can be inserted into the flower pot, which can then be firmly secured into the ground. Multiple stakes can be used to fix the flower pot or chrysanthemum securely. This eliminates the need to bring a shovel to dig a hole in the earth or grass.
Residents are reminded to remove their flower pots by early December. Used stakes can be deposited in a designated bin at the cemetery, allowing them to be reused next year.
