During the autumn break, the city of Ninove is organizing a unique activity where children aged 8 to 12 will have the chance to discover various professions up close. In addition to a tour and the opportunity to ask questions, the young participants will also actively engage in hands-on tasks.
Participation is free, but registration is mandatory. There are three days with sessions offered in the morning and/or afternoon. Each child can attend one session to give as many children as possible the chance to participate. Registrations open on October 5th at 6 PM. Punctual attendance is important, as each activity has its own location and start time.
Children can, among other things, get acquainted with the work of a police officer at Politie Ninove (Centrumlaan 98) on November 4th and 6th. They will discover how a police station operates, experience a line-up, take their own fingerprints, and get to see police vehicles. A fitness coach at Club 9400 (Burchtdam 58) will teach them on November 6th and 7th how a training session is structured and let them try out exercises. At D&D Shop (Langemuntstraat 8), they will discover on November 4th, 6th, and 7th how a package handler processes and prepares orders for shipment, working with scanners themselves.
A behind-the-scenes look at Ninia Shopping (Kaardeloodstraat 97) is also possible on November 4th and 6th, where children will learn how a shopping center employee organizes everything and ensures security. The mayor of Ninove (Centrumlaan 100) will welcome children on November 12th at 2 PM at the city hall to show how decisions for the city are made. Young reporters can join Ninofmedia on November 6th and 7th to learn how news is produced.
Furthermore, children can learn about safety on November 6th at Deschepper-De Bont (Edingsesteenweg 296) from an insurance broker, and on November 4th and 6th, they can discover at restaurant Repoos (Centrumlaan 51) what it takes for a hospitality worker to provide guests with a pleasant experience. On November 4th and 7th, children will learn various hairdressing techniques at Kapsalon Zo Knap (Kattestraat 6).
