The Province of East Flanders is investing in the construction of new cycle paths in Ghent and Nazareth-De Pinte to encourage cycling.

The Province of East Flanders aims to encourage everyone to choose the bicycle more often, especially for short trips. The provincial government therefore supports local authorities in the construction of new cycling infrastructure, ensuring cyclists can reach their destination safely and comfortably. This was announced by Deputy Kurt Moens, responsible for Mobility.
In Ghent, North Sea Port is constructing a cycle path along the Marco Polostraat. This is part of the cycle route segments from the Bicycle Master Plan, which focuses on improving cycling facilities in the Ghent Canal Zone. North Sea Port receives a subsidy of 97,972.15 euros for this project.
The local authority of Nazareth-De Pinte is building a cycle path along the Groenstraat in De Pinte. This path is part of a cross-municipal cycle route network focused on comfortable and safe cycling to residential areas, schools, stations, shopping centers, and business parks. The authority receives a subsidy of 34,839.81 euros for this project, with the Province of East Flanders and the Flemish government each investing 50%.
