Renovation works in the centre of Halen are steadily progressing, with the completion of archaeological research in Koepoortstraat and advancements on the Market Square.

Works as part of the Centre Redesign are moving forward. Archaeological research in Koepoortstraat has now been completed, a week earlier than anticipated. Work is also continuing on the new layout of the Market Square.
Good news regarding Koepoortstraat: the archaeological research is fully completed, a week ahead of the original schedule. Next week, the road surface will be further excavated in preparation for the sewer works, which the contractor expects to start from November 4.
Through traffic in Koepoortstraat is currently not possible. However, the Begijnhofplein and the parking at Brasserie Driepunt remain accessible via the intersection with the N2/Staatsbaan.
On the Market Square, the new layout is increasingly taking shape. In the area in front of the town hall, the new paving has been laid. Next week, the existing paving around the kiosk is scheduled for removal, followed by the foundation work on the side of house numbers 8 to 12 and preparatory work for the placement of the cobblestones.
The town hall remains accessible via Marktstraat, at the rear of the building. From there, you can walk to the main entrance through the alley next to the town hall; this alley is currently exclusively accessible to pedestrians.
The city of Halen thanks all residents, traders, and visitors for their patience and understanding during the works. Together, we are working step by step towards a more beautiful, safer, and pleasant centre.
