The East-Limburg Hospital (ZOL) invites visitors to information stands during the 10-day mental health awareness event, running from September 30th to early October, to strengthen resilience and connection.
Humans are social beings, and connection with others is essential for mental health. The theme 'being well-surrounded' of the 10-day mental health awareness event emphasizes the importance of resilience. The organization encourages people to reflect on their mental health and discover new opportunities for connection.
During this event, ZOL offers information stands on various campuses where visitors are welcome for a chat and a cup of coffee. Colleagues are available to answer questions about mental health, personal resilience, and the available support services, helping individuals find the right assistance.
The information stands will take place at the following times and locations: ZOL campus Sint-Jan on October 7th from 1 PM to 4 PM; ZOL Maas en Kempen on October 6th in the afternoon; and ZOL, campus Sint-Barbara on October 6th from 11 AM to 2 PM.
“"Be open to meeting: put your phone aside when you are out. Make eye contact, smile, or start a spontaneous conversation with someone at the checkout, on the bus, or in the park. Sometimes a friendly word is exactly what someone needs."
“"Create new memories: spend time with older people who are dear to you. Do something you've never done together before: go to the sea, watch a movie, get an ice cream, take a walk with a wheelchair. New experiences foster connection and joy."
“"Say why someone is important: pick up the phone and call an older person who means a lot to you. Tell them why you are grateful for them. A sincere word can warm someone for days."
