Starting Tuesday, November 3rd, the installation of a new fiber optic network will commence in Beverst and Schoonbeek. The network, managed by Wyre, a collaboration between Telenet and Fluvius, will offer residents the possibility to soon surf, stream, and game at light speed.

The new network will be an open network, meaning other telecom operators can also offer internet via the fiber optic connection. The works are scheduled to last until the autumn of 2027.
Residents will receive a letter a few days before the start of works in their street with more information, a detailed schedule, and contact details. The interventions will take place in verges and under pavements, not on private property.
Contractor Equans is committed to minimizing disruption and ensuring access to homes and businesses. The aim is for driveways or garages to be usable again within two working days. Pedestrians can always pass, but through motorized traffic may be temporarily impossible. Existing internet will continue to function during the works.
More information and an overview map of the rollout area are available at www.wyre.be. For complaints, contact complaints-wyre.be@equans.com.
