The municipality of Wuustwezel is challenging itself to become the 2026 Regional Champion of Flanders and calls on residents to participate in a collection drive for reusable items.

From October 17 to 31, Flemish municipalities will compete for the title of Regional Champion 2026. Wuustwezel is one of the participants. The task is to collect as many kilograms of reusable items per inhabitant as possible. One municipality per province will be declared Regional Champion.
Residents are encouraged to search their cupboards, garages, or attics for items they no longer use but which deserve a second life. These can be brought to Kringwinkel Wuustwezel at Kalmthoutse Steenweg 193A. Large items can be collected free of charge.
Every kilogram counts, and the more residents participate, the greater the chance of winning the title. Reuse benefits the environment, the local community, and supports thousands of employees in the social economy.
The competition is an initiative of Kringwinkel, which is celebrating 25 years of reuse this year. More information can be found at www.kringwinkel.be/25-jaar/kringkampioen.
