The municipal technical service in Wuustwezel has again placed approximately 120 temporary leaf bins along avenues and streets with many trees to collect fallen leaves.

The leaf bins are intended for collecting fallen leaves from roadside trees on public property. This helps to keep streets and pavements clean. The collected leaves can later be used for composting.
Residents may deposit fallen leaves from roadside trees on public property into these bins. Garden waste, branches, grass, pruning waste, or other personal green waste are not permitted. If other materials are mixed with the leaves, the contents can no longer be used for composting. Anyone leaving garden waste or other refuse in a leaf bin also risks a fine for illegal dumping.
Each leaf bin has a regulation attached with guidelines for correct usage. The technical service empties the bins regularly. Once the trees have shed their leaves, the leaf bins will be removed.
