A section of the beech avenue surrounding the castle in Vorselaar will be temporarily closed to visitors starting October 30th. This decision follows a recent inspection that revealed several beech trees are in poor condition and pose a potential risk.

The beech avenues around the castle, a popular walking spot, are showing signs of damage. The dry summer has caused irreversible harm to many beech trees, as this species is particularly vulnerable to changing climate conditions. To ensure visitor safety, a part of the avenue will be closed off.
The administrators of the castle domain are currently investigating the necessary short-term measures to guarantee safety. Concurrently, a vision is being developed for the future of the area and its avenues. Visitors are kindly asked to respect the closures and not enter the cordoned-off section to help prevent unsafe situations.
