The municipality of Mol is holding a public consultation for the redesign of the play and meeting square at Lemmensblok. Children and local residents can share their ideas online until November 15th.

During two previous consultation moments on October 14th and 28th, children and local residents already shared their wishes for the new square. Key elements highlighted include ample greenery, shady trees, and a large open space. Specific points of attention were also raised.
Residents envision a square with more flowers, additional play equipment, and varied levels to encourage children's play. They also emphasize the importance of community involvement with the square and call for attention to traffic safety on the path to Sint-Theresiastraat. A bench in a dark spot raises concerns about the feeling of safety.
Children have numerous ideas for activities, wanting to be able to climb, crawl, swing, play football, and slide. Picnics and free romping are also high on their wish list.
Anyone with further ideas or who wishes to indicate which proposals they find important can submit them online until November 15th via www.gemeentemol.be/lemmensblok. The municipality will gather all input to create guidelines for a designer.
Once the design is ready, it will be presented again to local residents for potential adjustments. The square at Lemmensblok is part of the municipal government's ambition to annually redevelop a maximum of two squares into green sports, play, and meeting areas, considering residents' wishes, feasibility, and budget.
