The local government of Lint scores 71%, higher than the Flemish average, in the Municipal Communication Monitor by Thomas More University College, but residents are asking for faster communication on specific topics.

The Municipal Communication Monitor from Thomas More University College indicates that residents highly value the communication offerings of the local government, with a score of 71%, surpassing the Flemish average of 66%. In the spring of 2026, 553 residents of Lint completed the survey.
Key findings highlight the broad reach of trusted channels: Infoblad Lintfo remains a top performer (92% read it), followed by the website (86%) and digital information boards (59%). Residents find the information very clear and appreciate the customer-friendly approach when asking questions or reporting issues.
However, there is also a clear demand for faster communication regarding subsidies, grants, municipal council decisions, mobility, roadworks, and local retail offerings. Many residents prefer to combine digital and paper channels, with direct communication via WhatsApp being the most popular for urgent updates.
The local government of Lint is therefore renewing its communication menu. Residents can opt for updates via WhatsApp for urgent alerts and news flashes, a weekly digital newsletter with news and council meetings, or the official social media channels (Facebook and Instagram). The LintApp will also be launched soon.
