A few weeks ago, a break occurred in the water pipe under the Kapellensteenweg near the Missiehuislei. Pidpa will permanently repair the crossing under this intersection in the coming weeks.
The works, expected to last four weeks, will commence on Monday, September 28, and will proceed in three phases. The schedule is dependent on the progress of the works and may be affected by unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather.
Phase 1 (Monday, September 28 to Sunday, October 4): There will be alternating traffic with traffic lights on the Kapellensteenweg. The Withoeflei will be closed to motorized traffic, with local diversions. Cyclists and pedestrians can pass the work zone via traffic lights.
Phase 2 (Monday, October 5 to Wednesday, October 14): Alternating traffic with traffic lights will remain in place on the Kapellensteenweg. The Missiehuislei and Withoeflei will be closed to motorized traffic, with local diversions. Cyclists and pedestrians can pass the work zone via traffic lights.
Phase 3 (Thursday, October 15 to Friday, October 23): The Kapellensteenweg will be reopened in both directions, with traffic lights for safe pedestrian crossings. The Missiehuislei and Withoeflei will remain closed to motorized traffic, with local diversions. Cyclists and pedestrians can pass the work zone via traffic lights.
The Public Works department can be reached by phone on weekdays from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. On Fridays, they are available until 3 PM.
