During the restoration of the town hall, a special piece of Hoogstraten heritage will temporarily be housed at the Hoogstraten City Museum. The medieval clock, dating from 1486 and which has hung in the inaccessible turret of the town hall for almost five centuries, can now finally be viewed up close. Originally, the small clock came from the old fifteenth-century church.
The clock will be on display at the Hoogstraten City Museum from Saturday, September 26, until Sunday, November 1. Afterwards, the clock will return to the tower, and it may be another 500 years before it can be admired again! This is a one-time opportunity!
The City Museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday, daily from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Admission is, as always, free.
