Farmers can submit a support application via the e-counter until January 4, 2027. The measure aims to assist farmers in developing an economically resilient business strategy with added social value. Both new and existing businesses are eligible for this support with their business plan, for example, for starting a new crop, a new method of processing or sales, or for care and educational activities.
“"The challenges as a starter are significant in many ways; it was a steep learning curve. Financially, it was also a major challenge. Fortunately, the VLIF support for starting a sustainable business strategy helped to smooth out the sharp edges of our plan and make the necessary investments feasible."
This initiative is part of the Flemish CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which focuses on the competitiveness and sustainability of Flemish agriculture. The VLIF support is awarded as a lump-sum premium paid after the execution of the business plan. With a turnover of at least €20,000 from new activities, the support amounts to €20,000, increasing to €40,000 for a turnover of €40,000 or more.
Farmers looking to prepare their business for the future can submit their application via the e-counter. More information on the conditions is available on the website of the Agency for Agriculture and Fisheries.
