Belgoprocess has achieved the SDG Pioneer 2026 certificate, an acknowledgement that underscores their structural integration of sustainability into their operations and aligns with their mission.

Sustainability is a key component of Belgoprocess's societal mandate. In processing and storing radioactive waste, and in dismantling and decontaminating nuclear facilities and sites, the company aims not only to operate safely and responsibly today but also to consider future generations.
Belgoprocess focuses on six long-term ambitions: climate and energy, pollution reduction, sustainable water management, circular economy, people and well-being, and ethical and local entrepreneurship. These ambitions are linked to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are translated into objectives and concrete actions.
In the past period, several steps have been taken, including investments in solar panels, biodiversity initiatives, measures to reduce waste and plastic consumption, initiatives for more sustainable water use, attention to circularity and sustainable purchasing, and employee training and awareness.
The SDG Pioneer recognition is not an endpoint for Belgoprocess. The organization intends to further integrate sustainability into processes and decisions, develop additional actions, refine its sustainability reporting, and strengthen the involvement of employees and partners.
In the longer term, Belgoprocess aims to further reduce its CO₂ emissions, optimize water consumption, stimulate circularity, support equal opportunities and a healthy, safe working environment, and continue to collaborate ethically with its surroundings.
The SDG Pioneer 2026 recognition serves both as a confirmation of the efforts made and as an incentive to further realize sustainability ambitions.
