The countdown to Sinterklaas can begin, as on Saturday, November 14th, he will once again be festively welcomed in Wuustwezel. From 6 PM, he will appear on the roof of the town hall, where young and old can greet him. Atmosphere and spectacle are guaranteed.
After his arrival, Saint Nicholas will proceed towards the Achter d'Hovenplein, followed by the thousands of lights of the annual Lichtstoet (Light Parade). The beautifully illuminated floats will create a magical procession full of color and atmosphere through the streets of Wuustwezel. The festivities will continue afterwards at the Achter d'Hovenplein and community center De Ark.
From 5 PM, access roads to the center will be closed to motorized traffic. Shuttle buses operated by Pieten will be deployed from Loenhout, Gooreind, Sterbos, and the Noorderkempen station.
Those who missed Saint Nicholas or simply can't get enough of him will have a second chance on Sunday, November 15th. On this day, Sinterklaas will visit Gooreind.
Around 12:30 PM, Saint Nicholas and his helpers will arrive at the Sociaal Huis (Bredabaan 735) to make a circuit past WZC Amandina and CODA. Afterwards, they will head towards the community hall Concordia (Bosduinstraat), where at 1 PM a festive procession will depart for the playground of the municipal school KlimOp. From 2 PM, children can enjoy two free theatre performances there: 'Stan Stempels' (ages 2 to 6) and 'Ruimtereis in regenlaarzen' (Space Journey in Rain Boots) (ages 7 to 12).
