Police repeatedly intervened in fights, threats, drunkenness, and noise disturbances inside and around the cafe. The problems extended beyond the premises, with violent confrontations occurring on the street, posing risks to residents and passers-by. During a fight in June, the cafe sustained damage. In September, police officers were also accosted, requiring reinforcements to regain control. The owner had then asked the police to evacuate the premises as she could not control her patrons.
Three days after a hearing regarding potential administrative measures, another severe fight broke out, during which individuals threw tables and chairs from the terrace. A parked car was damaged, and an ambulance was called for one of the attendees. Additionally, police repeatedly noted noise pollution, with electronically amplified music audible up to approximately one hundred meters away. During one inspection, 85 visitors were present, exceeding the permitted maximum of 49. Violations of terrace regulations and smoking legislation were also recorded.
Due to the severity and recurrence of the incidents, the mayor has imposed a temporary closure and sealing of the premises. This closure period is intended to break the ongoing disturbances and give the owner an opportunity to fundamentally adjust her operations. After reopening, the cafe must close by 3:00 AM for at least six months. Every day of operation, from 1:00 AM until closing time, at least one certified security guard must be present. A professionally calibrated sound limiter must also be installed and will be checked by the police.
Furthermore, the establishment will remain closed from December 31, 2026, at 6:00 PM until January 1, 2027. The anticipated crowds and increased alcohol consumption during the New Year's transition period heighten the risk of new violent incidents. With this additional closure, the mayor aims to prevent further violent confrontations in and around the cafe. The police will monitor compliance with the closure.
