The natural cemetery is designed to combine burial and nature experience in a harmonious way. Graves are carefully integrated into the landscape, respecting the green character of the surroundings. Bereaved relatives can have a biodegradable urn buried under a tree. The design is intentionally kept simple, allowing the graves to blend naturally into their environment. This creates a tranquil place where relatives can reflect on their loss, cherish memories, and say goodbye in all serenity.
By developing this natural cemetery, the municipality is responding to the growing demand for natural and personal forms of farewell. The aim is to offer residents the space to choose a farewell that aligns with their wishes and beliefs, with attention to nature and the environment. This new location adds a green, meaningful place to Duffel where nature, memory, and connection come together.
