The municipality of Bonheiden, together with Netwerk Emergo, has appointed three first-line psychologists to make psychological help more accessible, with a focus on vulnerable residents.

The local authorities of Bonheiden, in collaboration with Netwerk Emergo, have selected three first-line psychologists. This initiative aims to make psychological support more accessible, particularly for residents in vulnerable situations. By having the psychologists work with the social workers from the social services, residents can receive the necessary support more quickly.
The first-line psychologists will offer individual consultations on fixed days in the three municipalities. Registration can be done through the social services department of the OCMW. During these sessions, there will be space to discuss concerns, clarify problems, and determine the required support within a short-term intervention plan. If necessary, referrals will be made to further care services.
Furthermore, the psychologists will also support social workers and other first-line actors through consultation and advice, bringing psychological expertise into daily assistance. This helps staff to recognize mental health support needs more quickly and guide residents to appropriate help.
In Bonheiden, first-line psychologist Elke Frans will undertake this role. Registration is through the social services of the OCMW. More information is available via ocmw@bonheiden.be or by phone at 015 50 04 10.
