The municipality of Zwevegem continues to invest in accessible sports and physical activity opportunities for all residents. An 'Urban Cubby', a smart lending locker, was recently installed at the Europaplein, allowing free access to sports equipment.
The Urban Cubby concept operates entirely digitally via smartphone. Users scan the QR code on the locker, select their desired sports or game equipment through a web interface, and the locker opens automatically. After use, the equipment is simply returned to the locker for the next user.
The sports locker contains a varied selection of outdoor toys and sports equipment suitable for different ages, including footballs, badminton sets, Kubb games, frisbees, and speedminton and pétanque sets.
