The Fietsbieb, an initiative by Beweging.net supported by the municipality of Wingene and Huis van het Kind, offers children aged 2 to 12 the opportunity to borrow a second-hand bicycle tailored to their size. For a membership fee of 30 euros, plus a 20 euro deposit, families can use a children's bike for one year.
Starting in September, new members will receive a free children's bicycle helmet, while supplies last. These helmets are available in two sizes, for toddlers and for primary school children. The purchase of the helmets was made possible by financial support from Kiwanis Tielt and was sourced from a local bicycle dealer.
The Fietsbieb will reopen on Saturday, October 3rd, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM. Subsequently, the Fietsbieb will be open every first Saturday of the month during the same hours.
