Parking in the underground garages Het Pand and Zuiderpromenade now operates with license plate recognition. Paper parking tickets have been phased out, and payment methods have changed: payment is now exclusively possible with a bank card or via the EasyPark app. Parking rates remain as affordable as before.
Upon entering, a camera automatically scans the license plate and the barrier opens. Those paying by bank card must do so at the central payment machine before exiting the parking facility. Parking for less than one hour remains free. Payment at the parking exit is no longer possible.
Users of the EasyPark app do not need to visit the payment machine; parking fees are automatically settled, and the barrier opens upon recognition of the license plate.
Parking is also simplified for subscribers. Their license plates are automatically recognized at entry and exit, making physical parking cards obsolete. They also never need to visit the payment machine.
The first hour of parking remains free. It is advisable to visit the payment machine before exiting to confirm if your parking time falls within the free hour, thus avoiding surprises at the barrier.
Payment by cash is no longer accepted. The central payment machines ensure a smooth exit for everyone and prevent queues at the exits.
Subscribers can link their subscription to a maximum of two license plates by contacting parkeren@waregem.be. However, only one vehicle can enter and park at a time.
Vehicles like Microcars, which only have a rear license plate, cannot use the camera system. They are directed to street parking or peripheral parking lots.
The Expo parking building has different rates and payment methods. There, payment is made at the barrier upon exit using a bank card or credit card.
