Athletes from Tielt, Aarsele, Kanegem, Meulebeke, and Schuiferskapelle who have achieved remarkable sporting performances over the past year can nominate themselves or be nominated for the Tielt Sports Awards. Nominations can be submitted until Friday, November 13.
There are several categories for recognizing athletes and sports teams: Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Team of the Year, Promising Youngster of the Year, Promising Team of the Year, Sports Merit/Sports Figure, and G-Sports Athletes. Athletes not affiliated with a sports club are also eligible.
During the champions' tribute, all Tielt athletes who became regional, provincial, Flemish, Belgian, European, or world champions in 2026 will be honored. Additionally, there will be a posthumous tribute for athletes who have left a lasting mark on Tielt's sporting life.
New this year is the opportunity for sports associations to highlight their PR managers, such as social media administrators, website managers, or press contacts. This recognizes the important behind-the-scenes role of these volunteers.
Nominations can be submitted via email to sportdienst@tielt.be, or in person at the Sports Department at Sporthal De Ponte or Zwemad Ter Borcht. The Sports Council reserves the right to nominate additional candidates.
