Through the new campaign ‘Allemaal Roeselare’ (All of Roeselare) and the establishment of the Krachtfonds, the city aims to pool people, ideas, knowledge, and resources to jointly realize social projects that make Roeselare stronger. The city believes in the power of shared talents to offer everyone opportunities and drive progress.
The Krachtfonds acts as the engine for this approach, designed to connect needs, ideas, people, and resources. The fund builds upon the previous subsidy regulation Elk Telt (Everyone Counts), which supported 52 social projects over the past six years, with 24 receiving structural follow-up. An example is the 'Grinta' project, where KSV De Ruiter collaborates with Arktos vzw to provide extra support to players needing more assistance.
The fund enables experimentation with innovative projects and fosters connections between social organizations and entrepreneurs. The King Baudouin Foundation supports the city with expertise in fund management and fundraising.
Starting from 2027, Roeselare City will invest 178,000 euros annually in the Krachtfonds. Additionally, entrepreneurs, organizations, and residents are encouraged to invest their knowledge, time, network, or resources.
Projects within the Krachtfonds can contribute to five major challenges: giving children a strong start, strengthening health and resilience, providing opportunities for talent in the job market, contributing to good and affordable housing, and ensuring people meet, participate, and feel at home.
Beyond financial support, the fund also organizes Krachtateliers (Strength Workshops) and Krachtmeetings (Strength Meetings) to develop ideas, share knowledge, and initiate new collaborations. Organizations, schools, associations, volunteers, entrepreneurs, and experts working together for a social Roeselare are referred to as 'Sterkmakers' (Strengtheners).
