Soon, something special will arrive in mailboxes: a city magazine tailored to each specific neighborhood. With close-up stories, ongoing projects, future plans, and interesting figures, the City literally brings the neighborhood to its residents.
Each neighborhood or sub-municipality in Roeselare has its own character, stories, and strengths, deserving recognition. Therefore, the city magazine's November-December edition will be released in seven distinct versions: Beitem & Zilverberg, Beveren & De Tassche, Centrum and Krottegem, Oekene, Rodenbachwijk-Meiboom & De Ruiter, Rumbeke & Sint-Jozef, and Schiervelde & Godelieve. Residents will discover what's happening in their immediate surroundings, as the editorial team includes three neighborhood stories in each edition, with the foreword written by an engaged resident from the respective areas.
The magazine combines interesting facts, fun figures, local stories, and concrete projects. In addition to this tailored neighborhood information, the November-December city magazines also provide important city-wide updates, such as information about the upcoming holiday season or mental health for seniors.
Mayor Kris Declercq emphasizes that these magazines aim to share the stories of each neighborhood, showcasing current life, ongoing work, and future plans. Following last year's neighborhood tour, the city is opting for targeted mail distribution this autumn. The intention is to produce two more city magazines based on neighborhood-specific stories, figures, and plans during the upcoming policy period.
