The City of Oostende has invested heavily in local talent and sports infrastructure in recent years, and this is now paying off. The City regularly honors athletes or sports clubs who have delivered exceptional performances.
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM, a ceremony will take place in the Alice Freyzaal of the City Hall. The City will honor the following athletes: Bas Van Craeynest from the Royal Ostend Swimming Club, Belgian youth champion in 200m breaststroke, and Joren Verleye from the Zwaantjes Roller Club, European champion in the 3000m relay in inline skating.
The press is cordially invited to attend this event.
