The municipality of Harelbeke is encouraging its residents to green their gardens by offering free trees.

A tree in the garden offers more than just extra greenery. Trees provide cooling, capture rainwater, and offer food and shelter for animals. Every resident of Harelbeke can request a free tree for their garden.
Different tree species are available, adapted to garden size. For small gardens, there are wild guelder rose and hazel. For medium-sized gardens, one can choose between field maple or juneberry. For larger gardens, summer oak and small-leaved lime are beautiful choices.
Applications can be submitted until November 15 via harelbeke.be/bomenactie, while supplies last.
Tree collection will take place on Friday, November 27, between 1:30 PM and 6 PM at the city depot.
