The central research question of this project focuses on the effectiveness and impact of implementing the 'Van Cure naar Care' materials (projects PACT4SW and EscapePZ). These materials are applied in residential care centers, home care, palliative care networks, and healthcare training programs. The aim is to draw lessons for future implementation projects by Howest within the healthcare sector.
The implementation and impact analysis is conducted with a defined group of stakeholders, the so-called Van Cure naar Care validation partners. A mixed-method approach combines the validated implementation framework Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) with participatory Ripple Effects Mapping (REM).
Quantitative and qualitative data are collected through various methods, including questionnaires, focus groups, semi-structured interviews, and REM sessions. By evidence-based demonstrating the usability and effectiveness of the training materials, CARE4IMPACT valorizes the impact of the aforementioned projects on attitude changes intended to improve the quality of care and life for residents and care recipients.
The project thus contributes to a policy priority of the Department of Care and to a mission of Howest: the promotion of quality palliative care. The exploration of implementation methodologies and the lessons learned are summarized in an implementation playbook, intended as a source of inspiration for future implementation projects within Howest.
