Rising living costs make it difficult for many families to afford adequate warm winter clothing. Simultaneously, numerous households have winter coats, sweaters, scarves, or gloves in good condition that are no longer worn. By giving these garments a second life, a tangible difference can be made for those in need.
Individuals with suitable winter clothing are encouraged to donate it for the winter clothing fair. On Friday, October 16, the Sociale Kruidenier will open its doors from 2 PM to 5 PM. Visitors can freely browse and take winter clothing they can use. Donating clothing is not a prerequisite for participation.
The organizers request that only smoke-free, washed, and undamaged clothing be submitted, ensuring immediate usability for recipients. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people in poverty in a positive and respectful manner, avoiding stigmatization.
‘The Warmest Wardrobe’ is more than just a clothing drive; it serves as a meeting point emphasizing sharing, reuse, and community. Further information is available from the Sociaal Huis at Duinenstraat 106, by calling 059/33 97 70, or via email at socialedienst@bredene.be.
