In Blankenberge, OOgpunt has opened, a new information point offering practical advice and referrals for people with visual impairments.

A visual impairment can significantly impact daily life. To help people who are blind or visually impaired maintain their independence, AZ Zeno and Dogs for Blind are collaborating to establish OOgpunt. This information point offers advice on assistive devices and refers visitors to the appropriate organizations.
Beyond practical assistance, OOgpunt aims to foster greater understanding of the world experienced by blind or visually impaired individuals. To achieve this, training sessions are organized where experts by experience share their insights on how a visual impairment affects daily life. The volunteers of OOgpunt and the digital helpers were the first to receive this training in September.
The information point OOgpunt is located on the campus of AZ Zeno, at Dr. F. Verhaeghestraat 1 in Blankenberge. It is open every Monday from 9 AM to 12 PM.
