Interested parties could submit their applications until October 1, 2026. A total of 15 applications were received by the administration. On Monday, October 5, the sealed envelopes were opened by the relevant city departments. Currently, the submitted applications are being checked for completeness and compliance with the set conditions. Applications that meet the criteria will receive an invitation for the bidding moment.
At this moment, no candidates have been selected yet, and therefore no invitations have been sent. The local administration emphasizes that the procedure is being followed carefully and according to the planned steps to ensure that each application is assessed in the same manner.
The public auction is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, at 10 AM. Selected candidates will receive a participant number in advance. The candidate with the highest bid will be awarded the concession spot.
The local administration will also soon publish house rules on www.blankenberge.be/strandconcessies-2027-2035. These rules will detail the procedures for the bidding session, which will also include the presence of a bailiff. As soon as the next phase of the procedure can commence, the administration will communicate about it.
