The new residential neighborhood De Lange Thuyn on the outskirts of Blankenberge is taking shape with the launch of its second sales phase, offering 30 new building plots. The project, a collaboration between WVI, the local government, and housing company Zetus, aims to create a diverse housing offer.

Following the successful first sales phase in 2024, the De Lange Thuyn housing project in Blankenberge is launching a second sales round. A total of 239 housing units will be realized, including 133 building plots to be brought to market in phases by WVI, and 106 rental homes and apartments to be developed by housing company Zetus. This initiative aims to enrich the housing supply in Blankenberge and maintain its attractiveness as a place to live.
The second sales phase offers 30 building plots, divided into 4 detached, 14 semi-detached, and 12 terraced houses. Prices per square meter range from 362 to 435 euros, depending on the type of construction. Buyers have the freedom to design their homes with their own architect and contractor, adhering to the guidelines of an architectural quality plan that ensures a cohesive appearance for the neighborhood.
Plots from the first sales phase are also still available. Of the original 30 plots, 14 have been sold and 2 are under option, while 8 plots are reserved for developers. The remaining 6 plots remain for sale.
De Lange Thuyn is designed as a green living environment, with 20% of the total area dedicated to public green spaces. Safe walking and cycling paths will connect the neighborhood to the center and the train station. Water management is also a priority, with swales and buffer basins for rainwater collection and native planting that integrates with the polder landscape. The main roads have already been constructed, and the final finishing of roads and green areas will occur in phases as homes are built.
WVI, as a public project developer, applies specific sales conditions to primarily offer building plots to prospective residents. Buyers must make their homes wind and watertight within four years, move in within five years, and occupy the property for at least ten years. Candidates can register on WVI's waiting list, with priority rules for those with a connection to Blankenberge.
