Litter and illegal dumping are not only unsightly but also contribute to a less pleasant living environment. Therefore, October, the month of enforcement, will see increased attention to tackling these issues in Zemst and surrounding municipalities.
During the Week of Enforcement, starting on October 5, the municipality is expanding its efforts to raise awareness about the problem of litter and illegal dumping throughout the entire month.
The police zone KASTZE and Incovo will conduct heightened checks and actively search for individuals involved in illegal dumping. Special attention will be given to the areas around public bins, underground containers, and glass banks, where waste is frequently left beside designated collection points.
Citizens who litter in public spaces risk a GAS fine of up to € 500. The municipality urges everyone to refrain from leaving waste behind and to contribute to a tidy, safe, and pleasant community.
