Lennik is taking the next step towards less waste and better sorting. The municipality is preparing for a more considered waste system for GFT and residual waste.
Research shows that using bins with Diftar (differentiated tariff) is one of the most effective measures for better sorting. This system means residents pay per kilogram of waste they put out for collection. Therefore, in the spring of 2027, the municipality will switch from waste bags to waste bins.
The implementation of this new system will happen step by step. More detailed information will be available in the information magazine to be distributed in October-November-December 2026.
