During the Enforcement Week, an initiative by Mooimakers, extra attention will be paid to correctly disposing of waste. Community wardens, police, and litter enforcement officers from the Public Flemish Waste Company (OVAM) are joining forces to remind residents and visitors of the importance of putting waste in the right bin.
Examples of waste that does not belong on the street include an empty can, cigarette butt, candy wrapper, a dog waste bag in a storm drain, a bag of household waste next to or in a bin, or an empty box near the glass recycling banks.
Visitors and residents are encouraged to avoid fines by disposing of waste generated on the go in street bins or at home. Household waste should be placed in one's own EcoWerf containers and not in public bins.
