Early detection is the most effective protection against breast cancer. Women between 50 and 69 years old are encouraged to have a free screening mammography every two years. This screening can detect abnormalities in the breasts at an early stage, increasing the chances of full recovery and potentially reducing the need for more intensive treatments.
The Centre for Cancer Screening automatically sends an invitation letter to women within the eligible age group whose last mammography was two years ago.
