The street is undergoing a transformation where part of the pavement will be removed to make way for more greenery. New trees, parking strips with grass pavers, renewed sidewalks, and a new asphalt layer are part of the project. The local government of Herent aims to make the street more pleasant and better equipped to handle climate change.
The construction activities will be carried out in phases on each side of the street. The works are expected to be largely completed by the end of the year. During the construction period, Notelarenweg will be closed to through traffic. Pedestrians will maintain access to the residences at all times.
Vehicle accessibility will temporarily vary. Initially, the side with even house numbers will be addressed, followed by the side with odd house numbers. More detailed information and current updates on the works can be found on the website www.herent.be/wegenwerken-en-nutswerken.
