The project, a concrete investment resulting from the merger of KFC Sparta Haacht Tildonk and KVC Haacht, was submitted under the municipal sports infrastructure subsidy regulation. The municipality contributes 175,000 euros, Sport Vlaanderen grants a subsidy of 100,220 euros, and Haacht United invests 250,000 euros itself. The municipality also provides a guarantee for the club's loan. Haacht United will undertake the execution, operation, and maintenance of the project.
This investment not only supports Haacht United but also strengthens the sports infrastructure within the municipality. The merger offers opportunities for more efficient use of resources and infrastructure, while simultaneously investing in a future-oriented sports environment.
At Hoogveld, an existing natural grass field will be transformed into an artificial turf field that can be used more intensively. For Haacht United, this means more space for training and fewer cancelled or postponed training sessions due to poor ground conditions. The field also offers more possibilities for youth development and a higher quality sports environment for its members.
The new artificial turf field enhances Haacht United's football operations and the municipality's sports infrastructure. In collaboration with the club, possibilities will be explored for the field to serve as a shared sports facility, with clear agreements and in coordination with the club's own activities. Potential uses include schools, municipal sports activities, holiday camps, and, where relevant, cooperation between clubs.
By concentrating activities on well-equipped core sites, dependence on fragmented and outdated locations can be reduced, potentially leading to more efficient management and lower costs in the long term. Meanwhile, in Tildonk, usage rights for the grounds and canteen are jointly managed by dog club Thor and amateur football team Alpia, ensuring the infrastructure remains in use by other associations. The site at Beverdijk will also receive a new destination in the future.
The installation and management of the artificial turf field will consider water drainage, maintenance, and the most sustainable material choices. With this joint investment, Haacht United, the municipality of Haacht, and Sport Vlaanderen are providing the merged club with more space to grow and strengthening the sports infrastructure in Haacht.
