The municipality of Glabbeek will once again serve as the base for the free New Year's Eve transport initiative, an effort that has contributed to traffic safety for 30 years.

Despite the withdrawal of the city of Tienen as a participant, Glabbeek is resolutely investing in traffic safety on New Year's Eve. The municipality is organizing free transport and a party bus in collaboration with volunteers from JAT event drivers.
The entire service for the five participating municipalities costs less than 5,000 euros, amounting to 0.14 euros per inhabitant. With over 2,500 users annually, this is considered a small investment for a significant contribution to a safe New Year's Eve.
The financial contribution from the remaining municipalities remains unchanged, apart from an indexation. Glabbeek is also providing a free party bus between Hangar 44 and the Grote Markt in Tienen, specifically for young people attending the New Year's Eve party at Hangar 44.
