The intersection in Beersel has become safer and more organized today thanks to new traffic lights, separate cycle signals with square green lights, and renovated asphalt access cycle paths.

Cyclists and pedestrians now have their own green light, during which all motorized traffic must stop. This allows them to cross the intersection without conflict. Cyclists receive a square green signal and are permitted to cross the intersection diagonally. Traffic from Beukenbosstraat and Sanatoriumstraat also receives a separate green light phase in the traffic light system.
Consequently, the intersection is more organized, reducing conflicts between different traffic flows. Importantly, traffic on Alsembergsesteenweg intending to turn into a side street must still consider oncoming traffic on Alsembergsesteenweg.
The access cycle paths at the intersection have been newly constructed with asphalt. These connect better to the crossing points and offer more comfort for cyclists. The entrance to the town hall and the Rondenbos domain has also been refreshed. The historic entrance has been preserved and renewed where necessary.
