Specifically, municipal subsidies will be increased by 50%, to 375 euros for family-based care and 750 euros for group-based care. The application procedure will be simplified, with the submission deadline extended to December 15. The Social House will take a more proactive role in guiding applications.
This measure aims not only to help retain existing childcare places but also to further strengthen the quality of care, expand the offering, increase accessibility, and stimulate cooperation within the sector. High-quality childcare is important for families. With this extra support, as foreseen in the multi-year plan, we want to maintain existing childcare places and improve quality.
The new subsidy regulation applies to recognized childcare facilities for babies and toddlers located in Sint-Lievens-Houtem that hold a permit from the Agency Opgroeien.
