The football club KSCE Mariakerke has officially opened two new changing rooms, seamlessly integrated with the existing building and equipped with sustainable technologies such as a heat pump and underfloor heating.

The new facilities, commissioned by Stad Gent and Farys, increase the club's capacity from four to six changing rooms for players. A technical room is also included in the new construction. The roof of the existing changing rooms has received additional insulation.
The sustainable approach includes an air-to-water heat pump for heating shower water and underfloor heating in the new spaces. Solar panels will be installed on the roof of the new changing rooms, contributing to a sustainable sports site for the future.
Furthermore, two large rainwater tanks with a combined capacity of 35,000 liters have been installed to collect rainwater from all roofs. Overflowing water is directed to a newly created swale, and part of the gravel surface has been replaced with water-permeable pavers.
This expansion aims to prepare KSCE Mariakerke's sports site for the future, offering increased capacity, enhanced comfort, and a sustainable approach.
