On the care and welfare campus behind Sint-Pieter care home in Lochristi, four modular housing units have been installed. These provide temporary accommodation for residents who are left without a home due to circumstances.

On Tuesday, October 13th, four modular housing units were successfully delivered and installed at the site on Bosdreef. Using exceptional transport and a crane operation, the units found their final placement on the care and welfare campus, located behind Sint-Pieter care home.
These housing units are part of the local social housing and welfare policy. They offer temporary accommodation to residents of Lochristi who, due to circumstances such as a fire, eviction, or other acute housing emergencies, find themselves temporarily without a home. The site features four separate housing units and a communal maintenance space.
With this project, the municipality expands its range of temporary housing options. Due to the location close to the Sociaal Huis (Social Services Office), residents can count not only on a safe and quality temporary living space but also on the necessary guidance to find sustainable housing.
In the coming weeks, the final finishing works will be completed, making the housing units fully ready for use. This represents a significant step in strengthening the local safety net for residents facing an unexpected housing crisis.
