In Haaltert, the new Leisure Center is set to open soon, consolidating the library and the Culture, Tourism, and Local Economy department under one roof.

From its opening, residents will have access to books, tourist information, access badges, inquiries about the UiTPAS, and various other services. The building aims to be a central hub for leisure activities.
To celebrate the opening, a festive opening weekend is scheduled for Friday, December 4th, and Saturday, December 5th. Visitors can enjoy snacks, drinks, guided tours, and music, with a live illustrator present.
On Friday, December 4th, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, a festive opening will take place. Visitors can explore the building, meet the team members of the Leisure and Local Economy department, and toast to the new facility. Snacks, drinks, and music will be provided.
Saturday, December 5th, is dedicated to a family day, running from 10 AM to 4 PM. Children and adults can get a caricature drawn, visit the book doctor, attend a showcase by the Academy of Music, Word, and Dance, or participate in creative activities like crafting, glitter tattoos, and button making.
With the move to the new Leisure Center, the library's opening hours are also changing. From November 17th, the library will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 PM to 7 PM, better aligning with school hours. The library in Denderhoutem will also be open on Tuesdays from 3 PM to 7 PM.
