The youth movement UNHOOKED, founded by Sven De Coninck and Jef Willem, is launching an initiative this autumn against the constant pressure to be always reachable, starting at De Krook in Ghent.

UNHOOKED, a new youth movement, aims to highlight the pressure to be always online and reachable — also known as telepressure — in Flanders. The movement, founded by Sven De Coninck (former CEO of Chase) and Jef Willem (founder of Onbespreekbaar), questions who actually determines where our attention goes.
The initiative brings together young people, creators, and researchers to explore how our attention works and how we can regain control over it. UNHOOKED does not advocate against smartphones or social media, nor for a digital detox in a remote cabin. Instead, it offers inspiring conversations, creative workshops, and new insights to change how we view our screen time.
De Krook in Ghent will host UNHOOKED this autumn. Visitors can expect engaging workshops, creative maker sessions, and space to reflect, experiment, and most importantly, choose where their attention is directed.
Further information on activities can be found on the agendas of De Krook and UNHOOKED.
