The old library at De Zuid in Ghent, transformed into 'De Vitrine', opens its doors from January 4th to March 27th, 2027, as a meeting place for young people.

From January 4th to March 27th, 2027, school-going youth aged 12 to 21 are welcome at De Vitrine, the former library at De Zuid in Ghent, to eat their lunch. The space is open every afternoon between 11:45 AM and 1:15 PM. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the Youth Service will be present, while Habbekrats will be available from Wednesday to Friday. Visitors are asked to bring their own lunch and drinks; water, coffee, and tea are provided free of charge.
The Zuidpool project of Habbekrats vzw is temporarily relocating to De Vitrine and will offer after-school activities from January 4th to March 27th on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Participation in these activities is voluntary.
Additionally, De Vitrine is launching an Open Call titled 'De Vitrine is van jou' (De Vitrine is yours). Young people looking to organize their own workshops, exhibitions, meeting spaces, game rooms, or rehearsal spaces can book the venue from January 4th to April 12th, 2027. Ideas can be submitted via an online form.
