Young children are encouraged to explore the world with the new 'Vertelstof' kits. These kits are designed to stimulate children's creativity and curiosity and can be borrowed for cozy reading sessions at home, in childcare, or in kindergarten.
The packages are divided into 7 themes relevant to the world of children aged 1.5 and up: 'About the body', 'About birthdays', 'About little foodies', 'About art, colors, and shapes', 'About daily life and exploring the world through play', 'About sounds, songs, and noises', and the new kit 'About crawling creatures'.
For the composition of these packages, Utopia consulted Iedereen Leest, specifically their Boekstart program, and Inge Umans. The content was reviewed by expert groups, including pedagogical advisors and coordinators from childcare facilities and teachers from preschool and kindergarten in Aalst.
In addition to a proven educational added value, 'Vertelstof' aims to primarily promote the joy of reading aloud and playing, with the Huis van het Kind as its partner.
The opening hours for borrowing the kits are as follows: Monday and Thursday from 09:00 to 12:00, Tuesday and Wednesday from 14:00 to 19:00, and Friday from 14:00 to 17:00. The Huis van het Kind is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
