"No day is the same, and it's precisely this variety that makes it engaging," says a municipal employee. He stresses that Tessenderlo-Ham can be proud of its cleanliness, but there is no reason to rest. Illegal dumping remains a persistent problem that quickly returns when controls are absent. Therefore, enforcement and awareness campaigns remain necessary.
The actions of 'Mooimakers' (Cleaners) make a difference, especially by teaching children to care for their environment. This awareness must continue to be stimulated. About twenty volunteers play a crucial role by cleaning up litter. Those who wish to contribute can sign up with the environmental department.
The satisfaction comes when residents praise the municipality's cleanliness. Driving through clean streets provides a good feeling. The message during the Week of the Cleaners is clear: pause and consider the problem. It takes little effort to throw waste in a bin. Together, we keep Tessenderlo-Ham clean.
