During six free, practical group sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours, participants will work on their eating habits under the guidance of a dietitian. They will receive achievable tips and concrete tools for healthier eating and increased physical activity, thus reducing their risk of type 2 diabetes and other health problems.
The sessions are intended for residents aged 45 and over with a FINDRISC score of 12 or higher, or who have been referred by their GP. There is no age limit for women with a history of gestational diabetes. Unsure about your risk? Take the online risk test at gezondheidskompas.be.
The full series of sessions will take place at Het Loo, Vismarkt 32. The dates are: Tuesday, October 13, Tuesday, October 27, Tuesday, November 17, Tuesday, December 1, Tuesday, December 15, and Tuesday, January 26. Each session runs from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
