After a week filled with surprising encounters, poetic street performances, and spontaneous moments of wonder, the city center of Sint-Truiden transformed into the setting for a grand total spectacle that brought out a large number of visitors. The internationally renowned company Theater Tol slowly brought Sint-Truiden to life with mysterious figures, musicians, and artists who immersed residents and visitors in a story that grew day by day.
For the parade and teaser by Theater Tol on Friday evening, October 16, around 1500 people gathered in the center, despite the rain. Saturday evening, October 17, featured the impressive finale on the Grote Markt. It turned into one large stage where music, light, movement, and emotion converged. High above the audience's heads, spectacular scenes unfolded that visibly impressed young and old. Even the iconic town hall played a role in the performance as a backdrop for enchanting light projections.
“"Sintruin begot"
Christophe Elen captivated the audience into silence when he performed the song 'Sintruin begot' live. The Trudofeesten are still ongoing with various exhibitions such as 'Echo’s uit de Trudoabdij', 'Poorten naar Sint-Trudo', 'Reliekroute: ‘Bezield en Gekoesterd’', and 'Relic'.
Further events are planned, including 'Lichtjes in de Abdij' on Saturday, November 21, and the immersive multidisciplinary concert experience 'Innerplay – The Uprising' by Innerplay on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, 2026. Those who wish to see Christophe Elen perform again are in luck, as he will be presenting shows with ‘Be Tru op de kaffie’ throughout November in the sub-municipalities.
